About us

Sports as a platform for growth.

SAS SEVEN is a nonprofit organization founded in 2021 and based in Smithfield, Virginia. We use sports as a platform to develop discipline, confidence, and character in young people — pairing athletic training with academic and life-skills support so every athlete we work with is set up to succeed on and off the field.

Our mission

To develop young people through athletics and education — providing quality training, mentorship, and academic support that help them build confidence, discipline, and character.

We use soccer to build discipline, confidence, and character — helping young people win on the field, in the classroom, and in life.

What we do

Our programs.

Four connected programs — built around soccer — that support the whole young person: athlete, student, and teammate.

Program 01

Soccer Training & Skill Development

On-the-ball coaching that builds real soccer skills — first touch, passing, dribbling, and the fitness to compete for a full game. Our summer and winter camps meet players where they are, whether they're brand new to the sport or ready to compete, and move them forward with plenty of touches, small-sided games, and coaching that keeps it fun.

  • First touch, passing, dribbling, and finishing
  • Speed, agility, and game-ready conditioning
  • Small-sided games and real match situations
  • Coaching that keeps players motivated and having fun
  • Ages 11–14
  • Season Summer & winter camps
  • Where Local schools
  • Cost Need-based

Program 02

Academic & Life Skills

Because what happens off the pitch matters just as much. Alongside soccer, we support our players with study habits, goal-setting, time management, and the confidence to ask for help — so they stay on track in the classroom and are ready for whatever comes next.

  • Study skills, goal-setting, and time management
  • Encouragement to stay on track in school
  • Confidence, communication, and teamwork off the field
  • Guidance toward high school, graduation, and beyond
  • Ages 11–14
  • Season Summer & winter camps
  • Where Local schools
  • Cost Need-based

Program 03

Mentorship & Character

Every young person does better with someone in their corner. Our volunteer coaches and mentors are consistent, positive role models — on the field and off — helping players build character, leadership, and belief in themselves. More often than not, it's the relationships as much as the reps that change a kid's path.

  • Caring, consistent volunteer coaches and mentors
  • Leadership, discipline, and character development
  • A supportive team culture where every kid belongs
  • One-on-one encouragement and guidance
  • Ages 11–14
  • Led by Volunteer coaches

Program 04

Community & Competition

Soccer is better together. Beyond training, we bring young people together for friendly competition and community days — a chance to put their skills to the test, represent Smithfield, and give back to the place we all call home. Win or lose, the goal is the same: growth, sportsmanship, and belonging.

  • Friendly matches and team competition
  • Community days and give-back events
  • Sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork
